Linux-Mandrake: Mandrakelinux 10.0 Now Available

Widely recommended for Linux beginers, since it gives the ease of use that a beginner needs but remains pretty powerful under the hood, Mandrake Linux has just announced the availability of its official version 10.0, which can now be downloaded and is based on Linux kernel 2.6.3.

According to French-based MandakeSoft, 10.0 offers the most advanced Linux features currently available - "in terms of technology as well as the most up-to-date software."

New features includes higher performance and scalability for servers, greater interoperability with the Windows world, plus numerous improvements and refinements to the user interface.

At a minimum, experts say, the 2.6 kernel should give performance boost of about ten per cent. Official boxed sets have already shipped out  and the public download edition is now available as ISO files, which are publicly available on a number of FTP mirrors.

I have just tried 10.0 and i have found it to be amazing. I keep trying to switch to a different distro ... but i find myself always going back to mandrake for one reason or another. I am happy with its basic functionalities and especially the ease of use. I am happy to do my sysadmin and desktop work from this box. try it!!!
